What’s new: China’s Ministry of Commerce has slammed four probes launched over the past two months by the EU into subsidies for new-energy firms, calling them “protectionist” and urging the bloc to “change course immediately.”
The investigations, including the latest one launched Tuesday into Chinese wind turbine suppliers in five EU countries, “not only undermine the confidence of Chinese companies to invest and trade in Europe, interrupt the mutually beneficial industrial cooperation between China and the EU, but also affect global efforts to combat climate change and green transition,” a ministry official said, according to a statement published Thursday night.
