What’s new: China’s first domestically built cruise ship, the Adora Magic City, completed a second six-day trial voyage, passed all tests and is now ready for operation, state-owned China State Shipbuilding Corp. said Tuesday.
The 135,500 gross ton cruise ship, which can accommodate more than 5,000 passengers, is scheduled for delivery in November and is to embark on its first commercial voyage next year, the builder said. Adora Cruises, a joint venture set up by China State Shipbuilding Corp. and American cruise giant Carnival, is set to take delivery and operate the vessel.
