Manchester United are looking for any additions in the transfer window that would help improve the quality of their squad, and the latest rumour suggests that they want to bring an academy graduate back to the club.
According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, and tweeted out by @utdreport, Bournemouth player Josh King has a number of clubs interested in his signature, but his preference is to return to Manchester United.
Joshua King has a number of options and his preference is to return to #mufc. Solskjær is understood to be keen but United's hierarchy have not given a clear indication of whether they want to make an offer. Bournemouth value him at £15m-£20m #mulive [@David_Ornstein]

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also seems to be keen on the player as an attacking option but the board seem to be stalling and have not given the manager an idea as to whether they will make an offer, as the Cherries have placed a price tag of around £15m-£20m on him.
The rumours of King’s potential return to Old Trafford has caused a mixed reaction from United fans, with some annoyed that the board won’t back a player that the manager wants, whilst others believe he is not good enough. Throughout his career at the Cherries, King has played 170 times, scoring 50 goals and setting up another 17, per Transfermarkt, and this would be a decent forward to come in as cover at the club, even if he isn’t seen as first team quality.
Here is what these United fans said following the update on the Norway striker:
Not saying that I want Josh King, but this is more proof that the board are yet again not backing the manager and giving him the players that they want

As a backup I wouldn’t complain. Ole obviously doesn’t fancy Ighalo, which is odd considering the money we’ve paid for a loan.

Fed up of hearing his name

This club is finished if they actually sign another relegated striker. Wasn’t Ighalo enough?

No no no , not good enough. Norways third best striker.
