Aston Villa: Fans react to Ollie Watkins transfer fee update
Some Aston Villa fans have reacted to a latest transfer report claiming the club hope to sign Brentford’s Ollie Watkins for under £20m this summer.
Championship striker Watkins has been in excellent form over the last 12 months for Brentford, netting an impressive 25 goals and gaining three assists in 46 appearances during the 2019/20 season.
Narrowly missing out on the chance to gain promotion to the Premier League with the Bees, the 24-year-old striker is now subject to interest from Villa.
Valued at £10.8m, the striker, who was signed by Dean Smith at Griffin Park when the Villa boss was in charge, is now set to be subject of a bid from the Villans ahead of a potential summer move.
Villa, who struggled to find a regular goalscorer last term, are now seemingly in the market for a new front-man with Smith keen to make some improvements to his squad this summer.
Reacting to Gregg Evans’ claim of a potential deal for Watkins under £20m, which was shared by Twitter account @villareport, fans of the Claret and Blue side gave their opinion.

Not entirely sure we have the luxury of time on our side. With a shortened windiw of opportunity to get new players in and integrate them in the squad we can’t be holding out for the sake of a few million. If we’re serious about this pair let’s get it done ASAP 🦁
