Aston Villa: Fans react as Ollie Watkins linked with Villa Park move
Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to a latest news report linking Brentford striker Ollie Watkins to the club.
The 24-year-old moved to Brentford in 2017 from Exeter City under then-Bees manager and now Villa boss Dean Smith, and the £10.8m-rated striker has since gone on to become one of the Championship’s top players in his position.
Netting an impressive 25 goals and registering three assists in 46 appearances during the 2019/20 season,Watkins narrowly missed out on gaining promotion to the Premier League with the Championship side, losing to Fulham in the play-off final at Wembley.
Villa, whose top scorer Jack Grealish found the net just 10 times, did well to keep their top-flight status alive towards the end of the season, holding West Ham United to a 1-1 draw on the final day which ultimately made them secure.
Smith is seemingly keen to make some changes to his squad this summer and Sky Sports have now claimed that a bid for Watkins is being prepared.
Reacting to the latest transfer report on Watkins’ interest from Villa via Twitter account @villareport, these fans gave their opinions:
Villa is preparing a bid for weeks and we have seen nothing. I am afraid we might lose him to someone else. If we want the guy, we should act now. If we have different targets in mind, then let’s declare that we’re out of it.

I cant help but think this is a .mistake much like scott Hogan I would prefer someone with a bit of experience

I know Brentford have their own transfer methods in place, but I’m sure Hogan could score them 15-20 goals again and Jota. Bundle em into a deal.
