Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs tipped to reignite interest in Bournemouth striker Joshua King

Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs tipped to reignite interest in Bournemouth striker Joshua King - Bournemouth

According to a report from Football Insider, after facing repeated knockbacks from a plethora of striking targets, Spurs could now reignite their interest in Bournemouth’s Joshua King after signing Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon – but the attacker is seen by Jose Mourinho and co as more effective with a partner.

King, who bagged six goals and four assists in the Premier League last season as the Cherries were relegated, could be another option for Spurs to reconsider after being faced with a number of obstacles in their pursuit of a new striker.

Football Insider understands that moves for Alexander Sorloth, Andrea Belotti and Arkadiusz Milik have all been knocked back for differing reasons as Daniel Levy’s list of potential attacking signings grows shorterby the day.

Should Spurs reignite their interest for Joshua King?

Southampton also rejected a Spurs approach for Danny Ings recently, and the only two targets who haven’t outright dismissed a north London move seem to be Habib Diallo and Wout Weghorst.

As the list of candidates wears thin, Spurs may reconsider a move for Norway international King, with Football Insider tipping Levy and co to reignite their past interest.

Valued at £14.4m by Transfermarkt, the club could certainly be looking at a cheaper option following the sensational double swoop for both Bale and Reguilon – and King certainly fits the bill.

An established 48-cap striker once described as the ‘complete package‘ by former Cherries manager Eddie Howe, Spurs turning their attention to King once again certainly isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.

Reportedly on the lookout for a sixth summer signing, Tottenham could certainly do far worse than the former Manchester United attacker.
