Aston Villa: Fans react to reported £20m asking price for Josh King - Aston Villa

Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to a transfer report that claims £20m should be enough for the club to sign Josh King from Bournemouth this summer.

With the likes of Wesley, Mbwana Samatta and Keinan Davis having all struggled to find consistent goalscoring form last season, Villa manager Dean Smith has been busy enhancing his attacking options.

The completion of a £28m move for Ollie Watkins from Brentford earlier this week has added a renewed goal threat, whilst interest in King has been maintained. The Norwegian, who was linked with a £16m move to Villa Park, has reportedly been the subject of a rejected bid in that region from the Midlands outfit.

During his time in the Premier League with Bournemouth, who were relegated last season, King secured 161 appearances in which he netted 48 goals and supplied 15 assists. It is now being reported that a bid in the region of £20m could be enough to tempt the Cherries to sell.

The report also claims that Fulham are interested in the striker as they look to improve their squad ahead of their Premier League return.

Reacting to the report via Twitter account @AVFC_News, these Villa fans gave their opinions on the club’s interest in King, who one supporter feels would be a “perfect fit” for Smith’s team:
