Coventry City: Mark Robins discusses Tyler Walker's 'hunger' - Championship News

Coventry City manager Mark Robins has discussed the ‘hunger’ shown by new signing Tyler Walker after his first week at the club.

Walker, who is valued at £720,000 by Transfermarkt, netted 14 goals in 29 games on loan with Lincoln City last term before returning to Nottingham Forest in January. The young striker made an instant impression back at the City Ground, netting against eventual Championship winners Leeds United.

With interest this summer from the likes of Hull City and Peterborough, Coventry stole a march on the League One duo and completed a deal last week.

Touching on the striker’s arrival, Robins has now handed Coventry fans an update over his adaptation and immediate future in the first team. The manager said:

“It has been different for him because Forest were still playing to finish the league when the season had finished for us.

“But he’ll be fine. He’s a really good young striker.

“There’s a lot of learning to be done but he’s really hungry and ambitious, and he wants to do well.

“It’s just a question of him getting an understanding of what we do and hopefully he’ll pick that up really quickly and he’ll love it and enjoy it, and the supporters will enjoy that as well.”

This has the makings of a superb signing for Coventry and Robins. Walker produced the goods whilst with Lincoln City last season in League One, which earned him the right to step up and play in the second tier for Forest, and he will likely be chomping at the bit to make an impression at his new club.
