Aston Villa: Fans react as Ollie Watkins new arrives
Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to a latest transfer report providing them with an update over the club’s reported interest in Brentford striker Ollie Watkins.
Watkins, who bagged a head-turning 26 goals in all competitions for the Bees last season, is seen as a priority target by Villa boss Dean Smith who saw the likes of Wesley, Mbwana Samatta and Keinan Davis struggled last term.
With the new season fast approaching, Villa have shown interest in Watkins but a price-tag of £28m has seen a potential move somewhat stall. Added to that, it is thought that they could now face competition from Tottenham Hotspur for his signature.
Twitter account @AVFC_News have now looked into a potential transfer, claiming Smith’s side remain in pole position to make a move, especially after seemingly missing out on Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson who is set to move to Newcastle after Steve Bruce’s side had a £20m accepted by the Cherries.
Reacting to the latest update, Villa fans questioned the club’s transfer business as the new season fast approaches, with one suggesting it would be a ‘disastrous’ transfer window if they don’t land Watkins.
Well theres a shock.
Starting to think we are skint.
Looking like no lessons learned at all if any of thats true.
Well done Villa 😂

Watkins performances last season deserves the chance to play more than cup games and the odd Premiership game at Spurs. Hopefully he will come to Villa and be a major part of our resurgence into an established Premier League side

This is turning into a disastrous transfer window if we miss out on Watkins

Same old Aston villa lack ambition and lack of money .they will be in the same position next season unless they strengthen and get rid of the championship manager
