Aston Villa: Ollie Watkins’ £28m price tag has supporters fuming
According to an update by journalist John Percy in The Telegraph, via @villareport, Brentford want £28m for striker Ollie Watkins and talks are ‘ongoing’ with Aston Villa over a potential dea, but some supporters are definitely not happy with his price tag.
Watkins, who bagged a head-turning 26 goals in all competitions for the Bees last season, is seen as a priority target by Villa as they look to reinforce their attacking competitions ahead of a busy 2020/21 Premier League campaign.
Should Villa walk away from the table for Ollie Watkins?
Yes, £28m far too much
No, need to invest
Starting in just under a fortnight, the club have little time to sign a potential talisman who can help the club to stave off relegation for the second season running, but the price for Watkins in particular is a heavy £28m.
A fee arguably over the odds for a Championship player, some supporters have been blasting the asking price regardless of his ‘amazing‘ ability – prompting many of them to voice their concerns over the ‘ridiculous’ update – here’s what these fans had to say:
