Huddersfield Town: Terriers fans react on Twitter to Matthias Jorgensen's comments - Huddersfield Town News

What a difference a year makes for Matthias Jorgensen at Huddersfield Town.

A hero amongst the club’s supporters for his role in helping the Terriers secure survival in the Premier League, it seemed as if the defender could do no wrong at the John Smith’s Stadium.

However, after experiencing a drop-off in form during a 2018/19 campaign which culminated in Huddersfield finishing an astonishing 20 points adrift of safety, Jorgensen was already on thin ice before his latest outburst to the media.

Speaking to Danish outlet bold.dk (via Examiner Live) about his time with the Terriers, the 29-year-old admitted: “I can only comment on David Wagner.

“I had a really good relationship with him in our time in Huddersfield, so it will always be interesting to work with him.”

“It is playing at the highest level and playing in a club that will be a step in the right direction and where I will play so that I can keep my place on the national team.”

“It has been a special experience to be part of [playing for Huddersfield].

“It has, of course, not been fun, but it has been interesting to experience a period with a club that has been so turbulent.”

With Jorgensen actively looking for a move elsewhere this summer, some Huddersfield fans took to Twitter to react angrily at the news.

Although the defender’s current deal with the Terriers does not expire until 2020 (via Transfermarkt), Jan Siewert could benefit from cashing in on him when the transfer window opens in July as he could use the money recuperated to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
