Crystal Palace: Eagles make Antoine Semenyo approach - Crystal Palace News

Crystal Palace have made an approach to sign Bristol City’s Antoine Semenyo, according to The Daily Mail’s Simon Jones.

The Lowdown: Palace back in for Semenyo

The Eagles were heavily linked with a move for the player back in 2021 and appear to be once again keen on the Ghana international.

Sky Sports stated earlier in the week that Palace have joined the race for the 23-year-old alongside Southampton, Bournemouth and Burnley, and it now appears as if Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman have made their first move ahead of a potential deal.

The Latest: Approach made

Jones shared a story for The Daily Mail in the early hours of Thursday morning regarding Palace and Semenyo.

He revealed that Palace chiefs have made an approach for the forward, with Semenyo into the final six months of his contract at Bristol City.

The Verdict: Fits the bill?

Semenyo has been described as ‘clinical’ by analyst Owuraku Ampofo and can play anywhere across the front three. He has contributed to 28 second-tier goals over the last 18 months and appears to be ready for the next step of his career, potentially to Selhurst Park.

Palace have successfully signed exciting players from the Championship in recent years in Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, both of whom have gone on to become key figures under Patrick Vieira, so Semenyo may feel that he could follow in their footsteps.

You can see why Palace are back in for the Ghanaian forward due to his versatility, age and impressive form, so hopefully a transfer can gather pace between now and Tuesday’s deadline.
