Charlton: Fans thrilled by Dillon Phillips’ performance vs Sheffield Wednesday
Plenty of Charlton fans have been reacting to their defeat at Hillsborough on Wednesday night, and there is one man who delighted fans in an otherwise sorry performance.
The Addicks are now in serious trouble after Wednesday’s results, as wins for Barnsley and Wigan mean Lee Bowyer’s side are looking over their shoulder with the 22nd-placed Latics just two points behind. If truth be told, the performance against Sheffield Wednesday was even worse than the result, as the visitors mustered up just one shot on target in the 90 minutes – the Owls managed eight (BBC).
Although the hosts got their reward in dramatic fashion thanks to Steven Fletcher’s 95th-minute goal, many Charlton fans were left in awe of the performance of goalkeeper Dillon Phillips. The 24-year-old made several quality saves to keep them in the match and certainly would have deserved a clean sheet.
