Charlton: Fans react to club post reflecting on FA Cup victory over Sheffield Wednesday
Plenty of Charlton fans could only find unhappy memories on Tuesday after the club shared a video of a memorable FA Cup victory, as one fan reflected how Roland Duchatelet ‘showed his true colours’ while another simply said the video makes him ‘sad’.
The Addicks got a huge result this weekend with a 3-1 win over Luton Town, lifting themselves five points clear of the bottom three with 12 matches left to play. Another win on Wednesday against Sheffield Wednesday would be absolutely massive, but some fans are reflecting on a different clash with the Owls, as the club looked back on the FA Cup win at Hillsborough back in 2014.
Callum Harriott’s left-footed rocket put the visitors in front that day before Leon Best levelled things up, only for Simon Church to win the tie with a close-range header. Of course, things ended badly for Chris Powell as he was sacked by Duchatelet just a couple of days after the next round of the cup, where the Addicks were beaten 2-0 by Sheffield United.
You can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below, where the club’s tweet didn’t quite get the response they may have been hoping for…
