Charlton: Fans have no sympathy for Luton Town after fortunate offside decision
Lots of Charlton fans have been reacting to an image from Saturday’s win against Luton Town, as it appears the visitors’ offside goal was in fact onside.
It was a huge three points for the Addicks on Saturday, lifting them into 18th place with 39 points, meaning they are now five clear of the drop. Luton sit rock bottom after the weekend’s results, six points adrift of safety, but a tweet from Charlton fan and BBC journalist Louis Mendez shows the Hatters were very hard done by indeed.
After a chaotic first 45 minutes in which Naby Sarr hit the crossbar before Lyle Taylor and Harry Cornick both scored within minutes of each other, James Collins put the visitors in front around the hour mark only to be flagged offside, and Taylor was scoring his second from the spot at the other end just moments later. Of course, George Lapslie’s late strike made sure of the result, but it’s fair to say Lee Bowyer’s side got away with one looking at the image below. Unsurprisingly, there is little sympathy from the Addicks faithful, as you can see in the Twitter reactions down below…
Looks miles offside to me 😉

Justice for the offside goal at their place that was counted as a goal imo.

Well they had 2 goals which blatantly should of been disallowed at their place so I guess this kind of stuff does eventually even itself out

At their place was it an offside goal and a handball… football karma 👍🏼

About time a decision went our way & it was nice to see the Luton fans celebrating the linesman’s decision with a yellow flare 👏 #AppreciationFlare

There was one hair out of place on Collins head that was offside

Payback for what happened at Kenilworth Road.
