Liverpool: Fans react negatively to Ben Woodburn birthday post
Ben Woodburn celebrated his 20th birthday on Tuesday 15th October 2019.
The Welsh international is contracted to Liverpool, but is currently on loan at League One outfit Oxford United where he has scored one goal and provided five assists in 12 appearances overall (via Transfermarkt).
However, the former Sheffield United loanee recently broke a bone in his left foot in the U’s 2-2 draw with Accrington Stanley, which has ruled him out of action for three months (via Liverpool Echo).
Woodburn’s name is etched into Liverpool’s record books as he is the club’s youngest ever goalscorer. In November 2016 the Welshman netted in a League Cup tie against Leeds United, he was just 17-years-old at the time and making only his second appearance for the club.
As a result, big things were expected from the youngster but, as it stands, he has never fully made a breakthrough at Liverpool hence why he is now on loan in League One.
His parent club posted on social media to wish him many happy returns, but there were a few negative replies from Liverpool fans, many of whom no longer believe he will succeed at Anfield despite him still only being 20-years-old.
Here is what some Reds fans said about Woodburn…
