Burnley: Clarets may be eyeing two more signings after van den Berg

Burnley: Clarets may be eyeing two more signings after van den Berg - Burnley News

Reliable journalist Alan Nixon has revealed that Burnley may already be lining up two more signings after Sepp van den Berg, should that deal be completed.

The Lowdown: Burnley linked with van den Berg

Vincent Kompany led his team to their first victory in the Championship on Friday night, beating Huddersfield Town 1-0.

The Clarets are actively looking to bolster their ranks as they aim to bounce back at the first time of asking, and have been most recently linked with Sepp van den Berg, but it seems as though it’s not just the 20-year-old who could be walking through the doors at Turf Moor in the weeks ahead.

The Latest: Nixon’s update

Asked during a fan Q&A on Twitter whether there were any ongoing Burnley transfer updates, Nixon replied:

“Waiting on van den Berg decision … and sounds like a possible work permit or two in pipeline.”

The Verdict: Bright future ahead

It remains to be seen which positions Burnley are looking at filling and if those two work permits will come off as new signings, but squad depth is something vitally important in the second-tier of English football and this update can only be positive.

The Clarets have already lost multiple key figures, most notably former captain Ben Mee this summer and Chris Wood back in January, so they need to somehow find suitable replacements to fill the huge voids left behind.

Getting out of the Championship is no easy task, but after a positive start, the new Burnley era and future under Kompany is looking bright, and with a couple of fresh faces still to be added, there’s every chance that a Premier League return could be just around the corner.
