Liverpool fans on Twitter were not happy with Roberto Firmino after yesterday’s horror miss
Roberto Firmino has shown time and time again that he can do the business for the Reds when it matters, but it’s no secret that he’s not an out and out striker. The Brazilian showed that again yesterday when he blazed a glorious chance over the bar after just 22 minutes and had he scored it would have settled plenty of nerves amongst the fans.
22' – CHANCE! A brilliant move from the Reds, as Firmino breaks free in the box. His curling effort goes just over the bar.

It was a neat little move from the Reds going forward, in the early stages of their clash with Cardiff, and throughout the entire game for that matter, the Kopites dominated the ball and looked to make openings, but they weren’t at their zippy best. That may have partly been down to Neil Warnock’s side leaving the pitch to dry up, but the Reds should have done better.
The goals in the end, ironically, came from a set piece and a penalty, and there can be no complaints about either. Regardless, it should have been a more comfortable win. When your front-man is firing chances into the stands like Firmino’s sitter yesterday, though, it’s always going to be hard to record a comprehensive win, and the Brazilian will need to sharpen up if he’s to help fire his side towards Premier League glory this season.

Firmino’s miss didn’t go down well with the fans, and even if it was on his weaker left-foot there are no excuses for missing such a sitter.
