West Ham United: Thilo Kehrer had ‘worst performance for the club’

West Ham United: Thilo Kehrer had 'worst performance for the club' - Premier League News

West Ham United reporter for The Athletic Roshane Thomas claimed that Thilo Kehrer has his ‘worst performance for the club’ at Leeds United.

The Lowdown: Two points dropped

West Ham will feel as if it was two points dropped rather than one point gained as they were pegged back from 2-1 up to draw 2-2 at Elland Road.

Rodrigo scored midway through the second half for the hosts after Gianluca Scamacca had given the visitors the lead, with a Lucas Paqueta penalty cancelling out a Wilfried Gnonto opener.

The Latest: Kehrer criticised

Taking to Twitter after the draw, Thomas claimed that although the Hammers could ‘thank’ goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski for the point after he made three saves in the match, he thought that Kehrer had his ‘worst performance for the club’:

“FT: #LUFC 2-2 #WHUFC. West Ham can thank Fabianski for that point. Some great saves late on. Kehrer, however, had his worst performance for the club. Six league games without a win for West Ham.”

The Verdict: Needs to step up

Kehrer has put in too many poor performances this season, currently ranking as West Ham’s 15th best performer in the Premier League.

He has been heavily criticised already for some of his previous displays, and Wednesday night was no different.

Kehrer lost out on seven of his duels in total, made no interceptions, and gave possession away no fewer than 17 times throughout the game, the third-most in the Irons squad (SofaScore).

BBC journalist Simon Stone noted how the German gave the ball away ‘under no pressure’ and put his team ‘in trouble’ against Leeds, and he needs to cut out these silly mistakes if David Moyes’ side are going to avoid a relegation battle come the end of the season.
