Leicester express interest in Leeds star Jack Harrison - Leeds United News

Leicester City have expressed an interest in signing Leeds United winger Jack Harrison, according to The Daily Mail

The Lowdown: Leeds career

Harrison, hailed as ‘absolutely superb‘ by Conor McGilligan earlier in the season, has been a regular at Elland Road over the last four and a half years, making 185 appearances for the club. The 26-year-old has contributed to 57 goals during his time in Yorkshire and is currently valued at €25m by Transfermarkt

The wide man was linked with a move to Newcastle United over the summer, but as we know, a transfer failed to materialise, with the Whites rejecting two offers.

It looks as if another Premier League side are now keen on his services, though, with Harrison recently occupying a new central position under Jesse Marsch.

The Latest: Leicester’s approach

The Daily Mail claimed on Tuesday that The Foxes are keen on signing Harrison and have expressed their interest in the player.

The report adds that Leeds have been reluctant to listen to offers under £35m, despite the fact that the player is only under contract for a further 18 months

The Verdict: New contract needed?

Should Harrison remain with Leeds beyond January, then it could be wise for the club to look at a new contract extension before the summer.

If his situation remains the same, then you’d expect suitors may come calling again in the summer, and Leeds’ £35m asking price may have to drop due to the player being in the final 12 months of his deal.

Therefore, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Leeds decided to talk with Harrison’s representatives over the coming months, looking to extend his Elland Road stay.
