Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), and particularly the transition to net zero, will prove to be one of the most consequential investment trends in the coming years. It’s clear that client demand for ESG products exists, as investors are increasingly looking for sustainable ways to put their capital to work. For example, two-thirds of high-net worth investors in UBS’s 2022 Investor Sentiment Survey stated that sustainability is highly important to them and to the performance of their portfolio. And 78% of those investors expect investments in sustainability to maximize their returns.
