Everton: Callum Connolly joins Fleetwood Town on loan
Callum Connolly has joined Fleetwood Town on loan from Everton for the rest of the 2020/21 term, according to the Toffees’ official website.
The 23-year old made the move on transfer deadline day for domestic clubs and will now look to impress in League One before moving back to Goodison Park once the season ends.
Connolly played well for Fleetwood and Lincoln City last term
Indeed, Connolly played well for both Fleetwood and Lincoln City when he was on loan at both clubs in the 2019/20 season.

In 26 games in total in League One, the England under-21 international won a rather impressive 4.7 of his duels per match and also averaged 2.4 clearances and one tackle a game, as per Sofascore.
Connolly impressed Joey Barton
Indeed, Fleetwood manager Joey Barton, who was born in Merseyside, was full of praise for Connolly after signing him on loan in the January transfer window, saying that he was ‘superb’ (via Blackpool Gazette) in a number of different positions.
The Under-21 Premier League champion is capable of playing in a wide range of different roles, but has mainly operated as a defensive midfield player throughout his footballing career so far (per Transfermarkt).
Connolly may have to leave Everton permanently
Nonetheless, Connolly may have to leave Everton on a permanent deal after his loan spell ends in order to try and further his career.
With just one senior appearance for the Blues, coming all the way back in 2016, a permanent move away from Goodison Park may suit all parties involved.
